It has been three years since the defeat of Voldemort. Good triumphed over Evil! Or so everyone thinks... There is an undeniable feeling that a dark power is rising once more, and the familiar fear that gripped them all a few years ago is again wrapping its icy fingers around their souls. Students are faced with what seems to be an invisible enemy and loyalties are faltering left and right. Who is trying to take the place of the infamous Lord Voldemort? A tug of war between peace and power exists in the minds of many at Hogwarts. Could the real fight just be beginning?
"Some of the leaves of the Forbidden Forest are changing their colors, the vibrant greens of the spring and summer are fading into glowing tones of yellow, orange and red. The air is growing crisp and cool with the scent of the approaching winter on the breeze. At Hogwarts the Great Hall is filled with the colors of the autumn harvest and students are anxiously awaiting the All Hallows Eve festivities. The halls and corridors of Hogwarts have become frigid and the grounds are occasionally blanketed in a fog. The rain is cold and falls more often, occasionally freezing in the evening’s chill. The closer we get to winter the colder it gets and it seems the students of Hogwarts might get caught in a few light snow falls…"

Hogwarts Classes « Thread Started on Apr 29, 2009, 5:53pm »
What school would be complete without classes to participate in? We have several highly trained professors at Hogwarts who are ready to teach everyone who is willing to learn.
Your character must participate in at least one class during their schooling or you’ll risk expulsion! Also, if you fail two or more lessons, your presense will be requested by the Headmaster where your atttendence at Hogwarts shall be discussed. Hogwarts is a school and therefore classes are important.
You must sign up for a lesson before participating!
How Classes Work: The professor will post an opening role-play to set the mood of the days’ lesson. You will have the opportunity to reply your character entering the classroom. Is she/he tired? Maybe this is their worst class and they’re dreading the lesson to come.
Your professor will begin teaching the lesson they’ve prepared to mold the minds of your own creations. Are you taking notes during the lesson or simply passing them? Don’t get caught; too much trouble making during the lesson and you risk losing house points!
After all is said and done, the homework will be assigned and you will be dismissed.
When a lesson is complete, the professor will award grades to each of the students that participated in class. They will be written in their Grade Book and this will inform you how many points you have earned your house.
The Grades are as follows: O(Outstanding) = 15 Points E(Exceeds Expectations) = 10 Points A(Acceptable) = 5 Points
P(Poor) = 5 Points will be deducted from your house D(Dreadful) = 10 Points will be deducted from your house T(Troll) = 15 Points will be deducted from your house
- Being early to class (replying within the first 72 hours to a class) = 5 Points - Answering questions = 5 Points
Homework is handed out at the end of each lesson but is completely optional. It will range from sending in a role-play of your character working on that tedious potion or answering questions about the topic discussed in class. These are designed to add to your Hogwarts experience and bring it to life in your mind. Completing a homework assignment will earn you extra house points.
